Jesus Christ is "The only begotten Son of God" (John
3:18, KJV). Jesus is a man conceived by the power of the Holy
Spirit. He had no human father, but his human mother was Mary
(see Luke 1:31-35). Jesus grew to a man, showing strong spiritual
awareness, inherited from God His Father, but in other respects
he was very much a human being with all natural feelings and
emotions (see Matthew 4:2; 23:37-39; Luke 22:44; John 11:35).
Because of his perfect obedience God raised His Son from the
grave and gave him everlasting life and a place at His right
hand, with authority over all God's creation (see Acts 17:31;
Romans 1:1-5; Ephesians 1:15-23). "God hath fulfilled
the same [His promises] unto us their children, in that He
hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second
psalm, 'Thou art My Son, this day have I begotten thee.'"
(Acts 13:33, KJV).
Those who have faith in the salvation brought by Christ will
also be sons of God, not by birth, but by adoption:
"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in
his name, he gave the right to become children of God-children
born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's
will, but born of God." (John 1:12).
"Beloved, now are we the sons of God and it doth not
yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall
appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is."
(1 John 3:2, KJV).
