Seraphim (the plural of 'seraph') are symbolic creatures seen
in a vision by the prophet Isaiah (see Isaiah 6:1-6). There
is a similarity between these creatures, and those seen by
Ezekiel in a similar vision (see Ezekiel ch.10) where they
are called 'cherubim' (q.v.).
Similar creatures are seen in vision by the apostle John (Revelation
ch.4). They represent the power and the glory of God in the
earth.
